UC Health DEI Examples
Storytelling Example
Our client originally asked for several quick patient ‘testimonials’ for a training conference attended by UCSF Health managers to specifically review their ‘Working Well Together’ ethos. We pitched and shot a more visually and editorially-compelling video that worked well for their Patient Experience discussion for training purposes.
Full Animation Example
This fully-animated video with a voiceover features a distinct style and tone that the client chose from various storyboards. Every animated video begins with the client reviewing and choosing a sampling of art/illustrations/assets, that our in-house animator creates (as is the case in this example). We can also hire artists or partner with a client’s in-house illustrator/artist to create animatics.
Live Action/Animation Example
Here, we use a mix of interviews/stories with animation. This includes a voiceover, chosen specifically to convey relatability and match the tone of the personal stories and animation.
Scenario-based Example 1
We worked with our client to provide a patient-facing video that included a mix of on-camera stand-ups of various UC leaders, physicians and fully-depicted, scripted scenarios.
Scenario-based Example 2
Another example of a fully-depicted, scripted scenario for a client’s employee training video hosted on an internal media platform. Each of these modular video scenarios were re-enacted by physicians and staff (based on scripts) and were tied together by light graphics and a professional voiceover.
Just a little inspiration . . .
This is a great primer on mixing animation with live action, especially when depicting memories or other evocative moments, based on a person sharing their story. We can envision a simplified style like this, where we’d have DEI leaders, including UC President Drake, sharing their personal stories/experiences as people of color within UC health professional schools and clinical sites. This would be a stylized mix of the Storytelling Example and the Live Action/Animation Example above.
